Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 36-bed Level 3 NICU travel assignment. Night shift 6:30 PM–7:00 AM with high-acuity cases and complex ventilator management.

Requires Active RRT license (where applicable), NRP and ACLS certifications, and Level 3 NICU experience or 3–5 years in Level 2 NICU. Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NICU experience required, or Level 2 NICU with 3–5 years in NICU
• Minimum 6 months of NICU experience in last 6 months
• STABLE certification preferred
• No employment gaps of 90+ days in past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required
• One professional reference required (two references for Florida and Missouri)

Responsibilities

• 36-bed Level 3 NICU unit within the hospital
• Typically 2 respiratory therapists per shift
• Operates Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Nitric Oxide system, Vapotherm
• EMR systems: Meditech and NeoNotes
• Night shift 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
• Work every other weekend and holidays on rotation
• Attend high-risk deliveries and manage ventilator support including HFOV and conventional ventilation
• Administer surfactant, obtain and interpret blood gases, administer nitric oxide
• Work independently with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
• Grey scrub color designated for Respiratory Therapy staff
• Radius rule of 50 miles; local candidates not considered
• First-time travelers may be considered if minimum experience is met

• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri)

Responsibilities

• 36-bed Level 3 NICU unit within the main hospital
• Unit typically staffed with 2 respiratory therapists per shift to cover peak volumes
• Uses Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide, and Vapotherm devices
• EMR systems used: Meditech and NeoNotes
• Night shift schedule, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with facility staff
• Attend high-risk deliveries and manage ventilator support including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Perform surfactant administration, blood gas acquisition and interpretation, and nitric oxide administration
• Work independently with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
• Grey scrub color designated for Respiratory Therapy staff
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet minimum experience requirements
