Qualifications

• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Ventilator management proficiency (BiPAP, CPAP, HFOV).
• Airway management including intubation, extubation, suctioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care in a Pediatric Critical Care (PICU) setting at a children’s hospital.
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Weekend-only contracts available.
• Floating to CTICU, NICU, H8A (pulmonary), and Core units.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Care for critically ill pediatric patients in PICU.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PICU position at a pediatric hospital, requiring RRT certification, OH state license in hand, and 2+ years of experience.

Requirements

• Active RRT certification
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• OH state license required in hand (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years overall experience required
• At least 1 year of full-time experience in a large hospital PICU required
• Level 1 pediatric trauma center experience strongly preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Proficiency in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and high frequency oscillator
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience with medication delivery systems including nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups
• Experience administering medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, and Pulmicort
• Proficiency in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene
• Two supervisory references required, at least one must hold a manager or supervisor title
