Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/L&D position at a children's hospital in Indiana. The role requires RRT certification, BLS/ACLS, and NICU/PICU experience. The traveler will work night shifts in a NICU/L&D setting with potential cross-site assignments.

Open to first-time travelers; Indiana residency is considered local. Benefits include housing support and travel/licensure reimbursements as part of a travel staffing package.

Qualifications

• RRT certification through NBRC required.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• NRP certification required for L&D placement (can be obtained after offer).
• PALS certification preferred.
• Indiana state license required if applicable.
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and CHEA.
• Minimum 2 years NICU experience required.
• Labor & Delivery experience required.
• Children's hospital experience within last 3 years required, or Level I adult trauma facility experience considered.
• NICU or PICU experience required.
• 2 supervisor references required.
• SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in NICU/L&D unit at a children's hospital.
• Be assigned to home unit of NICU, PICU, or Peds; subject to facility need.
• Primarily assigned to Labor & Delivery.
• Floating to PICU and Peds Acute Care, and affiliate hospitals as needed.
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30.
• Every other weekend required.
• Cerner charting system; experience preferred.
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients primarily in Labor & Delivery.
• Perform ventilator management including CPAP, weaning, and alarm troubleshooting.
• Manage airway care including suctioning, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Administer respiratory medications via various delivery systems.
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Candidates previously perm or PRN must wait 12 months before applying as traveler.
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time requires approval.
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Indiana residents considered local.
