Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a NICU Respiratory Therapist for a night shift contract position providing critical care and infant transport services.

The role requires BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications, a Respiratory Therapist license if applicable, and less than 1 year of experience. You will work 12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week) in NICU using Epic EMR and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
• Less than 1 year of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide neonatal respiratory care in NICU and assist physicians.
• Transport infants to/from referral health systems.
• Use Epic EMR for documentation and charting.
• Work straight night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs.
• Identify and communicate significant changes in patient condition with the care team.
• Perform pain assessments and take action per protocol.
• Complete documentation including order entry and incident reports.
• Process patient charges and verify reports.
• Disassemble, clean, and maintain respiratory equipment per protocol.
• Deliver high-quality critical care per organizational guidelines.

• No holiday coverage required
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic treatments and assist physicians
• Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs
• Identify and document significant changes in patient condition and communicate with care team
• Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action per protocol
• Complete documentation including order entry, EMR charting, and incident reports
• Process patient charges and verify reports as needed
• Disassemble, clean, and maintain respiratory equipment per protocol
