Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU/PICU night shift position. The role requires strong neonatal through adult respiratory therapy experience and credentials.

Responsibilities include caring for NICU, PICU, and adult ICU patients on a 19:00-07:30 shift with floating within the unit and holiday coverage. Preference for travel-ready professionals with pediatric/adult critical care background.

Qualifications

• Active RRT license is required
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications required
• 2+ years of experience preferred; 1 year with strong pediatric/adult experience considered
• NICU Level 3/4 experience required
• PICU/Pediatrics experience required
• Adult ICU/ER/Trauma Level I experience required
• Experience with all age groups neonates to geriatrics
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Teaching hospital/Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in HFJV, oscillating ventilators, IMV/SIMV
• Neonatal/pediatric intubation experience
• ABG drawing and interpretation competency

Responsibilities

• Care across NICU, PICU, adult ICU, ER, and Level I Trauma units
• Night shift 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Average 6-7 ventilated patients daily with 1:12 ratio
• 12 rooms/beds, ~40 visits per day
• Care for neonates to geriatrics
• HFJV devices used 3-4 units in NICU
• Operate Maquet Servo i, Draeger V500, Jet ventilation, Oscillation, Nitric Oxide
• Epic charting system preferred
• Floating within specialty across patient care areas
• Holiday coverage as scheduled
• No pre-scheduled on-call
• Provide critical care respiratory therapy per skillset
• Administer and manage nitric oxide therapy
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and transports
• Care for ARDS, RSV, CF, BPD, ECMO patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers considered with strong NICU/peds/adult skills
• Local travelers may receive reduced local travel rate

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; will consider 1 year with strong pediatric/adult experience
• Level 3 and/or 4 NICU experience required
• PICU/Pediatrics experience required
• Experience in adult critical care settings such as ER, Level I Trauma, and Med/Surg ICU required
• Experience with all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in high-frequency jet ventilation, oscillating ventilators, and IMV/SIMV
• Experience with neonatal and pediatric intubation and intubation assist
• Competency in arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation

Responsibilities

• Mixed-acuity critical care setting spanning NICU, PICU, adult ICU, ER, and Level I Trauma units
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Average daily census of 6-7 ventilated patients with a 1:12 patient ratio
• 12 rooms/beds with approximately 40 visits per day
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric patients
• High-frequency jet ventilators commonly in use, with 3-4 running at all times in the NICU
• Specialized equipment includes Maquet Servo i, Draeger V500, Jet Ventilation, Oscillation, and Nitric Oxide
• Epic charting system preferred
• Floating required within specialty across all patient care settings, including adult care areas
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• No pre-scheduled on-call required
• Provide critical care respiratory therapy across NICU, PICU, and adult care units as assigned based on skillset
• Perform high-frequency jet ventilation and oscillation management for critically ill neonatal patients
• Administer nitric oxide therapy and manage related equipment
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric transports
• Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, BPD, and ECMO support
• Navy blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers considered if strong peds/adult/NICU-focused skillset and experience demonstrated
• Local travelers considered at a reduced local travel rate
