Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with current CRT certification for a 12-week hospital assignment in Minnesota. The role requires NBRC CRT, RT license before start, RRT within one year, BLS/ACLS, NRP/PALS where applicable, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities include hospital-based care in a 36-hour weekly schedule across 3 shifts, with weekend/holiday rotations and on-site work only. Epic charting is used; vaccination is required.

Qualifications

• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
• Minnesota RT license required before first day of employment
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required upon hire or within one year
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NRP and PALS certifications required where applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare field preferred
• Previous hospital experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to function with initiative and independent judgment
• Basic computer literacy required

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based respiratory care unit
• 36 hours per week on a rotating day/night schedule across 3 shifts per week
• Every other or every 3rd weekend rotation (TBD)
• Every 3rd holiday coverage required
• Epic charting system used
• On-site position with no teleworking
• Provide assessment, treatment, and monitoring of cardiopulmonary disease across the continuum of care
• Function as part of an interdisciplinary team to coordinate continuity of care
• Quickly and accurately assess patient conditions and communicate changes, diagnostic results, and response to treatment to the care team
• Experience in Emergency Medicine, PCU, Med/Surg, Labor & Delivery, Critical Care, and General Care settings is valued
• COVID vaccination and booster required
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from initial start date, followed by a required break before returning to a new assignment
