Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist – Marshfield, Wisconsin

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience and a trauma level 2 or 3 background for a 13‑week night‑shift contract in a Critical Care setting.

Assignment Overview

• Employment Type: Travel
• Start Date: 06/22/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12‑hour night (1830–0700), 3 shifts per week
• Openings: 1
• Every third weekend and every other holiday required; variable schedule may be available upon request.
• Off‑shift call (1900–0400) occasionally required, call response time 1 hour.
• No floating required.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting at a Level 2 Trauma Center.
• Critical Care unit serving all adult inpatient units, the ED, and pediatric patients in the ED.
• Charting system: Cerner (transitioning to Epic).
• Respiratory equipment includes: Servo U, Servo I, PB840, Hamilton T1 ventilators; V‑60, V‑30, and ResMed BiPAP/CPAP devices; Vapotherm high‑flow; INOmax Plus, oscillators, cough assist, and Volara.
• Supported by an RT system director, RT manager, on‑site supervisor, and a lead RT assigned to each shift.
• Orientation: orientation express session with leadership followed by 3–4 days on the floors.

Responsibilities

• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) and capillary blood gas (CBG) collection in intensive care units.
• Provide overnight EKG coverage as needed.
• Assist with intubation and independently place a laryngeal (King) airway during code blue situations.
• Other duties as assigned in the critical care environment.

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential via NBRC.
• Active Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist license required by start date.
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP.
• Minimum 2 years RT experience, with critical care experience required.
• Trauma Level 2 or 3 experience required.
• 2 references required: one supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience and one peer or supervisor reference from the same specialty within the last 3 years.
