Job summary

Voca Healthcare is seeking a qualified Respiratory Care Practitioner in Milwaukee, WI. This role involves performing diagnostic procedures, administering treatments, and managing cardiopulmonary care for patients. Ideal candidates will have experience in hospital settings and must hold a valid Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner License and RRT credential.

The position requires night shifts with a total of 36 hours per week, including weekends. Preference is given to those with over two years of relevant experience.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures by the department and hospital.
• Treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system.
• Therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing performed with use of medical gases and equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols upon physician order.
• Administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
• Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems.
• Bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises.
• Patient education; cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Maintenance of natural and artificial airways.
• Procedures performed in critical care and non-critical care areas, on patients of all ages.
• Perform job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Froedtert Health System.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Current State of Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care.
• Preferred 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care.
• Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program required.
• Bachelor's degree for Respiratory Care preferred.

Schedule Information

• Night shift: 3 x 12 hour shifts per week.
• Shift hours: 18:00-06:30.
• Weekend rotation required.
• Total hours per week: 36.
