American Traveler, LLC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital. Requires RRT certification and 2+ years of strong ICU experience, with Cerner EMR and multiple ventilator systems. NICU coverage needs NRP; ACLS preferred.

Travel assignment with rotation, weekend requirements, and on-site housing support. Candidate must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted at local rate.

Responsibilities

Acute care setting in a Level 1 trauma hospital
Treat adult and NICU patients in Respiratory Therapy unit
12-hour night shifts
3 shifts per week (6a-6:30p or 6p-6:30a)
4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
Holiday coverage as needed
No floating to outpatient areas
Uses Cerner EMR
Handles 35-40 procedures per day
Runs ventilators (Servo I, Jet, Oscillator)
Responds to Clinical Response Team calls
ABG draws responsibility
Lead on duty during shifts
High-acuity environment experience
2-day unit orientation with skills validation
Black scrubs required
On-site 24/7 pharmacy coverage
Residence within 50 miles verified by driver’s license
Local candidates not accepted at local rate

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital, requiring RRT certification and 2+ years of strong ICU experience.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification via NBRC required
BLS certification required
NRP certification required for NICU coverage
ACLS certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of strong ICU experience required, NICU experience preferred

Strong time management and communication skills required

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

Runs all ventilators, BiPAP V60, and CPAP
Uses Servo I, Jet, and Oscillator ventilators
Respond to Clinical Response Team calls alongside the unit lead
Responsible for all arterial blood gas (ABG) draws
Serve as lead on duty during assigned shifts
Work within a high-acuity environment requiring strong clinical experience
2-day unit orientation on the regular floor followed by skills validation
Black scrubs required
24/7 pharmacy coverage available on-site
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
