Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a hospital inpatient respiratory care position in Urbana, Illinois. This travel assignment requires an Illinois RCP license and NBRC-CRT certification.

Responsibilities include supporting the Emergency Department, performing routine and critical respiratory procedures, and documenting in EPIC EMR. Shifts are days, 12 hours, 3 days per week with weekend/holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Illinois RCP license required if applicable.
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
• EPIC charting experience.
• Level 1 Trauma experience.

• Treats Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations.
• Performs routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director.
• Obtains and analyzes arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases.
• EPIC EMR charting required.
• Day shift schedule, 7:00AM-7:30PM.
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of all aspects of respiratory care
• EPIC charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Performs routine and critical respiratory care procedures across all age groups
• Disassembles, cleans, and prepares respiratory equipment for safe operation
• Accurately documents and charges for respiratory care in the EMR
• Completes assessments on ventilator patients and other respiratory care patients
• Recommends timely interventions and communicates findings to physicians
• Assists with cleaning and stocking respiratory care equipment and supplies on inpatient units
• Functions as a clinical role model demonstrating strong technical and clinical judgment skills
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Assignment length limited to 1 year, after which a 6-month break in service is required before returning to this health system
