Job summary

Independence Excavating is seeking an experienced Concrete Batch Plant Operator to oversee mix design input, operate portable batch equipment, and ensure daily production aligns with specifications. This role requires attention to safety, accuracy, and efficiency on demanding civil projects.

You will monitor inventories, coordinate deliveries, and maintain records for permit compliance while working with pumps, conveyors, and RexCon-type plants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years' experience as Concrete Batch Plant Operator in road construction/airfield paving.
• Strong mathematical skills required.
• NRMCA and/or ACI certification preferred but not required (willing to obtain).
• Must pass drug screen and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Setting up, operating, maintaining, and taking down of Portable Concrete Plant (RexCon 12SE or Similar).
• Verifying proper input of mix design components for proper mixing daily.
• Operating primary machinery and equipment for production, such as pumps and conveyors; unloading materials.
• Maintaining and servicing equipment assigned to plant operation.
• Monitoring material inventories and coordinating material deliveries.
• Reporting daily production quantities, material usage, equipment usage, and fuel consumption.
• Maintaining plant permit records and ensuring compliance.
• Keeping the plant area orderly and clean.
• Operating equipment safely and efficiently.
• Cleaning of equipment daily.
• Adhering to all safety practices and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
