Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse to join the Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown) for a 14-week assignment. This night-shift role offers a $70.00/hr pay rate and requires acute care RN experience and a valid VA or compact license.

The IMC (4E) unit provides continuous monitoring and advanced nursing interventions, including ventilator management, telemetry, and post-operative cardiac/vascular care.

Qualifications

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in Nursing required.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State RN license in good standing.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certifications required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in IMC Stepdown unit per unit protocols.
• Monitor patients with telemetry and support ventilator/CPAP/BiPAP.
• Administer medications and assist with post-operative cardiac/vascular care.

Department Overview

This 24 bed IMC Unit is designed for patients who are too ill for general medical/surgical, but do not need an intensive level of care. Patients on 4E require continuous monitoring and advanced nursing interventions including but not limited to ventilator management, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring, heparin infusions, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula and post-operative cardiac and vascular patient care.
