Roles And Responsibilities

• Perform quick, focused assessments to determine patient acuity.
• Use the triage system (e.g., Emergency Severity Index) to prioritize care.
• Administer emergency medications (e.g., epinephrine, nitroglycerin).
• Initiate CPR, defibrillation, or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
• Communicate clearly with physicians, paramedics, and support staff.
