Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Grinding & Grooving Operator to operate specialized pavement grinding and grooving equipment on roadway and airport construction projects.

This role requires extensive travel across the United States, with extended periods away from home to support active project operations. The ideal candidate will have CDL Class A, OSHA 10 certification, and experience with Diamond Grinding and PCC pavement rehabilitation, while working with foremen and crews to meet

Qualifications

• Experience operating grinding, grooving, milling, paving, or heavy construction equipment.
• Knowledge of PCC pavement rehabilitation operations.
• CDL Class A or ability to obtain one.
• Knowledge of roadway and airport paving specs.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Read grades, measurements, and project plans.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Willingness to travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate concrete grinding and grooving equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust to specifications.
• Assist with setup, calibration, and daily maintenance.
• Read and interpret project plans and grade information.
• Maintain grinding depth and groove spacing.
• Collaborate with foremen and crew to meet production goals.
• Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns.
• Assist with loading, mobilization, and demobilization.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
