Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Survey Technician to support field operations and data collection in our Chattanooga, TN area. The role involves operating and maintaining surveying instruments, collecting data to company standards, and coordinating with the office and clients.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year surveying experience, knowledge of GDOT, and a valid driver’s license. Training is available for candidates meeting core requirements, with travel as needed and a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year experience with data collectors, total stations, and GPS.
• 1+ year land surveying experience.
• GDOT experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Willing to train candidates without above experience.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must be willing and able to travel for the role.

Responsibilities

• Collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
• Assist Party Chief in running the field operations.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments to measure elevations, angles and distances.
• Coordinate with office staff and clients as required.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal survey regulations and Accura procedures.
• Monitor daily timesheets, reports, and vehicle inspections.
• Perform mathematical calculations to establish reference points.
• Interpret maps, plats, blueprints, and specifications.
• Clean, check and adjust survey instruments for accuracy.
• Oversee surveying activities in the absence of Survey Party Chief.
• Perform related work as required.
