Job summary

Siddons-Martin Emergency Group in Covington, LA is seeking a Field Service Technician to operate and manage daily service activities for heavy trucks. You will diagnose, repair, and service vehicles while coordinating parts and maintaining inventory with a focus on safety and policy adherence.

Travel within the assigned territory is required. Candidates should have EVT/Pierce Master Technician status or obtain within one year, plus strong customer service and independent-work capabilities.

• Experience within Fire and Emergency related industry.
• Must possess EVT and Pierce Master Technician status or obtain within one year of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all company policies as defined in SMEG Handbook.
• Interact with customers, vendors and service staff.
• Maintain clean/safe work areas and proper tool storage.
• Maintain neat, professional appearance with logoed shirts.
• Perform proper vehicle diagnosis, services and repairs.
• Maintain accurate truck inventory.
• Provide labor time estimates to Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager.
• Provide parts lists to Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager.
• Participate in quality checks with Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager.
• Monitor productivity and identify areas for improvement.
• Adhere to SMEG operations manual processes.
• Participate in morning service staff meetings.
• Maintain accurate, timely reports and paperwork.
• Report potential problem areas to management before they arise.
• Maintain positive relationships with Pierce Manufacturing personnel.
• Enforce policies in Pierce Manufacturing operations manual.
