Job summary

Wagman is seeking a Project Engineer to join our operations team in Pennsylvania. This entry-level role supports project staff, estimators, and superintendents, providing hands-on exposure to commercial construction workflows.

We require a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, and at least three years of construction experience, including coordinating subcontractors and scheduling. A positive, communicative style is essential, with willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree preferred.
• Should have hands-on experience of at least three (3) years or better in construction, including experience in coordinating subcontractors and scheduling involving commercial construction.
• An in-depth working knowledge of construction trades is preferred.
• Must present a positive personal image with strong administrative and communication skills.
• Must be able to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain bid set of documents. Post changes to plans and specifications.
• Receive, log, prepare, and distribute requests for information (RFI). Review RFI questions and answers with supervisor for appropriateness and potential changes.
• Receive, log, prepare and distribute submittals. Review submittals with supervisor to ensure conformity to Contract Documents. Pursue timely receipt of submittals and advise supervisor of late submittals.
• Assist supervisor with reviewing and preparing change order proposals and change orders. Perform quantity take-offs to assist the Project Manager with verifying change order proposal amounts.
• Pursue information required from Superintendent needed for release of materials or equipment for project.
• Maintain project set of documents. Post all revisions to plans and specifications to ensure that they reflect all changes.
• Track material and equipment deliveries in concert with overall project schedule. Advise supervisor when orders are in jeopardy of being late.
• Assist project staff with preparing and updating schedules, which may include Preconstruction Schedules, Preliminary Construction Schedules, or Master Construction Schedule Updates.
