Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology X-ray Technologist for a 16-week day shift travel contract in Arlington Heights, IL. ARRT (R) certification, active state license, IEMA if applicable, and BLS are required. Epic EMR experience and travel assignment history are essential; new grads are not considered.

You will support ortho imaging needs, work 40 hours per week, and may rotate weekends. The role offers travel-friendly benefits and competitive pay commensurate with travel staffing norms.

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification is required.
• IEMA license is required if applicable.
• BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross) required.
• Active state license and certifications must be current; pending licenses not accepted.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience; 4+ years preferred.
• Ortho imaging experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Prior travel assignment experience required; minimum one completed travel assignment.
• New graduates will not be accepted.
• Must provide date of birth.
• Two professional references; one from most recent travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Radiology department with ortho-focused imaging needs.
• Day shift schedule, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM depending on daily ortho needs.
• Rotating weekends up to every other week, Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, with one weekday off to maintain 40 hours/week.
• 40 hours per week.
• No floating or on-call requirements.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Must complete a Relias EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration.
• Must pass an on-site EKG test on Day 1 of orientation; a study book will be provided in advance.
• Must work at least 1-2 holidays during the contract.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be away from the facility for 12 months before being considered as a traveler.
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for 13-week contracts.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate; local radius of 50 miles applies.
• Candidates should expect a brief interview (10-15 minutes) with the facility as part of the hiring process.
