Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray for a 13-week acute hospital assignment in Alaska. You will perform imaging across body regions, including fluoroscopy, using top imaging equipment.

Requirements include 1 year X-Ray experience, ARRT (R) certification, BLS, and a license if applicable. Teaching hospital and Level II trauma experience are preferred. Housing allowance provided for travel nurses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technologist experience.
• ARRT (R) certification and BLS required.
• Active license if applicable.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Trauma Level I/II hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with contrast media is a plus.
• Experience in adult outpatient and pediatric settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acute care imaging including abdomen, chest, extremities.
• Fluoroscopy and contrast studies where indicated.
• Use Epic EMR for orders and reporting.
• 3x12 hour day shifts (8:00 AM–8:00 PM) with weekends.
• May float to ED, OR, and portable imaging.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray for a 13-week acute hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and ARRT (R) certification.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Technologist required
• BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
• License required if applicable
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with preparation and/or administration of contrast media preferred
• Experience in adult outpatient and children's hospital settings preferred
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting with 407 staffed beds, Level II Trauma designation
• Magnet-designated facility recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• 3x12 hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirement
• Open to block scheduling requests
• May float within scope of practice to ED, OR, and for portable imaging
• Uses Epic EMR
• GE, Philips, and Siemens imaging equipment used
• Performs abdomen, chest, extremity, spine/pelvis, and head imaging studies
• Fluoroscopy studies including barium swallow, contrast enema, and upper GI series performed
• C-arm and portable imaging procedures included
• Scrubs provided
• Free parking available
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, and local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside outside the 50-mile radius
• Only one time off request permitted per 13-week assignment, approved individually upon offer
• Must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• May be required to float between sister facilities within the health system
