Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring ARRT certification and 1+ year of acute care experience.

Details

• Radiology department with 6 beds: 2 fluoro rooms, 1 U-arm, and 3 plain film rooms
• Busy Level 1 trauma patient volume
• Patient population ranges from NICU through geriatric
• Common cases include trauma, extremities, and general Level 1 trauma diagnoses
• Performs general x-ray, fluoroscopy (video swallows, barium enema, upper GI), and OR imaging (c-arm, o-arm, navigation for neuro, spinal, ortho)
• Uses EPIC EMR and GE PACS
• Unit-specific equipment includes GE OEC c-arm and Shimadzu portables
• 8-hour evening shift, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Possible floating to Advocate facilities within a 30-minute range, with advance notice

Requirements

• Current BLS and ARRT certification
• IEMA state license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge title
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Department supported by a Lead Tech during the day and a Charge Tech on second shift, plus a Radiology Transporter and Rapid Response/Code Team
• Radiologist available onsite until 2200, then coverage transfers to a third-party service at 2300
• Manager/Supervisor available on weekdays
• Orientation includes NEO plus 1-2 shifts of department-specific orientation
• 1 holiday coverage expected per contract
• RTO requests go through the manager
• Schedules are built in one-month increments
• Caribbean blue scrub color required
• Free parking available
• First-time travelers considered, though candidates with travel experience are preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Former Advocate Health employees must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
