Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography exams and screening as ordered by the physician.
• Operate mammography equipment and adjust settings to produce high-quality breast images.
• Prepare for and assist the Radiologist during intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
• Educate patients about the exam, promoting privacy, comfort, and infection control guidelines.
• Produce diagnostic-quality films and complete required documentation; disseminate patient preparation instructions to care areas.
• Maintain accurate patient information in the department records and EMR (Epic EMR) as part of clinical workflow.
• Elevate questions, problems, or significant challenges to more senior staff as needed.

Requirements

• Additional certifications: Mammographic Radiologic Technology (MRT) certification required.
• Experience: Experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred.
• Other: Ability to work in a hospital diagnostic imaging department; ability to adhere to a 4x10-hour shift schedule.
