American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant with an IL license and 1+ years of experience for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital.

The outpatient clinic setting handles orthopedic and neurologic rehab, with duties including gait training, home exercise programs, and detailed documentation of evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries. The facility has 372 beds and allows for flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Current IL PTA license required and active at time of consideration.
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Minimum 1 year PTA experience in outpatient clinic setting.
• Experience with orthopedic case management including joint replacements, fractures, and post‑op rehab.
• Experience in documentation including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid, commercial, and worker's compensation billing.
• Active license must be in hand at time of consideration.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient PTA role within an Outpatient Clinic setting.
• Care for orthopedic and neurologic cases including post‑stroke rehab, joint replacements, and spinal conditions.
• Schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts (7:00‑17:30), Monday through Friday; open to 4x10 schedules.
• No weekend or on‑call requirements.
• Uses WebPT EHR; Cerner used for hospital charting; potential EMR experience preferred.
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities.
• Provide direct patient care including home exercise programs, gait training, and therapeutic techniques.
• Support patient and family education and coordinate scheduling and communication.
• Gray scrubs or professional attire; free parking permit during orientation.

• Experience in documentation including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries
• Experience with billing types including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and worker's compensation

• Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
