Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment in Kettering, OH. You will work under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans that improve mobility, reduce pain, and increase independence in daily activities.

Applicants must hold an Ohio PTA license and BLS certification. Graduates from accredited PTA programs are welcome, with or without prior travel experience, as the team provides guidance and support.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Ohio
• BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required
• Ability to work under supervision of a Physical Therapist

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices and supplies are ready for patient sessions
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and balance with hands-on assistance as needed
• Observe patient performance, note changes, and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Accurately record patient treatment details and progress in the medical record
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and use of assistive devices
• Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and safety guidelines
• Engage in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices
• Assist with discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions to community or home-based settings
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
