Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel assignment in Georgetown, KY. As a PTA, you will assist with implementing treatment plans under supervision to improve mobility, reduce pain, and promote independence.

You will manage therapeutic exercises, document patient progress, educate on home programs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal recovery in varied clinical settings.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices and supplies are clean and ready for sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises to improve mobility, strength, and balance with hands-on assistance as needed.
• Observe and report changes in patient function to the supervising PT.
• Record treatment details and progress in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and proper use of assistive devices.
• Coordinate with PTs, OTs, and others for a comprehensive care plan.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety guidelines.
• Engage in QA and professional development to stay current in practice.
• Assist in discharge planning for community or home-based settings.
