American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift travel assignment in Quincy, IL. You will join a 24-bed PCU at a trauma level 2 facility, delivering telemetry-guided care on a 12-hour schedule.

The role requires IL RN licensure, 2+ years in stepdown, and certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIHSS). You’ll use Allscripts Sunrise EMR, manage complex drips, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, with weekend rotation possible.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown or progressive care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• Proficiency with Allscripts Sunrise EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24-bed Acute Stepdown Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a trauma level 2 facility.
• Care for dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow O2, and behavioral patients needing IV drip medications.
• Patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4 depending on acuity.
• Administers complex medication drips such as dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine.
• High patient throughput as expected in stepdown environments.
• Uses Allscripts Sunrise EMR.
• 12-hour night shifts with potential to work every other weekend.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting.
