American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for the PCU in Albuquerque, NM. This 13-week assignment requires 36 hours per week of 12-hour night shifts in a telemetry/progressive care unit.

Ideal candidates have a NM or compact RN license, 2+ years in telemetry/PCU, ADN/ASN, BLS and ACLS, and at least one prior travel assignment. Epic EMR experience and the ability to float within 20 miles are preferred; compensation includes travel reimbursements and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years telemetry/PCU experience in an 18+ bed unit.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• ADN or ASN degree is required.
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Staff 12-hour nights in a telemetry/progressive care unit.
• Monitor telemetry patients and provide nursing care.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams; supervise LPNs.
• Floats between departments within 20 miles as needed.
• Use Epic EMR; pass BCA test prior to the first week.

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU RN for a telemetry/progressive care unit requiring a compact or NM RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes those requiring telemetry monitoring
• Shift schedule is 12-hour nights with weekend and call as needed
• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR is used; prior experience is preferred
• Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for telemetry patients
• Coordination with interdisciplinary healthcare teams is expected
• Supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel required
• Must be flexible and able to function in a fast-paced environment
• Passing the on-site BCA test is mandatory for assignment continuation; a retest is allowed once
• Returning former permanent staff must wait at least one year to be eligible for travel assignments

Requirements

• Active NM or compact state RN license is required
• Minimum of 2 years current experience in a telemetry/progressive care unit of at least 18 beds
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
• Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) test must be passed on or prior to the first week of assignment
• NIHSS certification preferred
• No local candidates accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Epic EMR experience preferred
