Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel assignment in Yakima, Washington. This 13-week contract features 36 hours/week, 12-hour day shifts, and a focus on general medical, cardiac, and oncology patients.

You must hold a valid RN license with BLS and ACLS, have at least 1 year of clinical experience (2 years preferred), and be comfortable with cardiac rhythms and post-cath care. Epic is used for charting.

Qualifications

• Experience in PCU or similar setting desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to PCU patients including general medical, cardiac, and oncology.

• Administer medications and manage titratable drips per protocol.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in care planning.

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in a community hospital setting. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to a diverse patient population, including general medical, cardiac, and oncology patients. The role emphasizes compassionate care, clinical proficiency, and adaptability to a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, at least 1 year of clinical experience, with a minimum of 2 years total experience preferred, including experience in Progressive Care Units or similar settings.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac patients, post-cath lab procedures, and oncology patient care.
• Float: Float rotation may be required throughout the hospital.
• Additional Information:
  • Must be comfortable with cardiac rhythm interpretation and titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, Lasix.
  • Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, TR band application, post-cath lab care, and central line maintenance.
  • Care for a variety of patient conditions including COVID, PNA, stroke, sepsis, renal and cardiac issues, and oncology diagnoses.
  • High volume of post-cath lab procedures including stent placements and initial patient assessments.
  • High Spanish-speaking population (30%) and high volume of underserved charity care patients.
  • EMR: Epic
  • Weekend rotation at least 2 times per month, Friday/Saturday nights; schedule may vary based on hospital needs.
  • No night shift or on-call required.
  • Scrub color: Any color.

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
