American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for the PCU night shift in Roseburg, Oregon. The role requires at least two years of acute cardiac and respiratory care experience and an active RN license. It is a 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour nights, including every other weekend.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift role requiring at least two years of acute cardiac and respiratory care experience and active RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed PCU stepdown unit within an acute care setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, respiratory, renal failure, and ETOH withdrawal cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:3, with a maximum of 1:4 during medical overflow
• RNs are required to titrate minimal drips including Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone
• Utilizes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula RT equipment
• MediTech EMR is used on this unit
• 12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715, including every other weekend
• Floating is required, with priority to ICU or Med/Surg units
• On-call during low census periods with a maximum 45-minute response time if called in
• RNs read telemetry strips and work in collaboration with monitor techs
• Support from both a charge nurse and house supervisor is available on the unit
• Nurse aides assist with patient care and have defined ratios for both days and nights
• Two shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Holiday coverage is required (one major and one minor holiday)
• Scrub tops and pants can be any color except purple
• Previous employment within the last year at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity, is not permitted
• Placement is possible via 90 Day Emergency License if needed
• First-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active RN license for OR or Compact (NLC) state required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience with strong cardiac and respiratory skills
• Experience with titration of select cardiac drips required
• Experience with MediTech EMR preferred
• Copy of driver’s license required
• Professional references from one supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years required
