American Traveler is seeking a Travel PCU Stepdown Registered Nurse in Klamath Falls, Oregon for a 13-week assignment starting 12/29/2025. The position features 12-hour night shifts (36 hours/week) in a PCU stepdown unit with telemetry and complex cardiac patients.

The role requires OR RN license, 2+ years RN experience, BLS and ACLS, and the ability to titrate cardiac drips. Travel, stipends, and comprehensive benefits are included.

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Telemetry experience and rhythm interpretation required.
• Cardiac drip titration experience required.
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts with 24/48 scheduling.

• Work in the PCU stepdown unit within an acute care hospital.
• Patient population includes cardiac, post cath/pacer, pneumonia, COVID, ETOH, and ICU downgrades.
• 12-hour night shifts with scheduling on a 24/48-hour pattern.
• Weekend and holiday shifts required, typically every other weekend based on unit needs.
• Telemetry monitoring with remote support and monitor techs available.
• Titrate and manage insulin, heparin, cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, dopamine, and dobutamine drips.
• Epic EMR is used for charting; charge nurse support on the unit.
• No mandatory floating unless skill set allows and mutually agreed upon.
• Unit orientation provided with 1-2 shifts depending on experience.
• No on-call or standby requirements.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring an OR RN license and telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) stepdown unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, post cath/pacer, pneumonia, COVID, ETOH, and ICU downgrades, but no open heart cases
• 12-hour night shifts with scheduling on a 24/48 hour pattern
• Weekend and holiday shifts are required, typically every other weekend based on unit needs
• Patient ratios range from 8-9 with nurse aids present on the unit
• Telemetry monitoring is utilized with remote tele support and monitor techs available
• Required to titrate and manage insulin, heparin, cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, dopamine, and dobutamine drips
• Epic EMR is used for charting
• Charge nurse is present on the unit and takes a lower patient ratio when able
• Hospital supervisor available 24/7 for support
• No mandatory floating unless skill set allows and mutually agreed upon
• Clean and professional attire required; no specific scrub color mandated
• Unit-specific orientation provided with 1-2 shifts depending on previous experience
• No on-call or standby requirements

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Experience with telemetry and basic rhythm interpretation required
• Cardiac drip titration experience required
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and flexible 24/48 hour scheduling
