Applegreen USA Welcome Centers Central Services in New Jersey seeks an Assistant Plaza Director to support the Plaza Director in managing day-to-day operations at a multi-million-dollar travel plaza along a major highway. This role requires strong leadership, a focus on customer service, and a commitment to achieving financial targets.

You will lead a dedicated team to ensure fast, friendly service, uphold brand standards, and drive sales while fostering a culture of learning and accountability

Qualifications

• 3+ years of restaurant or retail leadership experience.
• Flexible on-site schedule; approx 50 hours/week.
• Stand/walk for extended periods; lift at least 20 pounds; travel to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and profitability of the travel plaza.
• Lead associates and plaza leadership to meet sales, speed of service, customer satisfaction, brand standards, and food safety.
• Assist with monitoring progress toward financial targets and support strategic changes to maximize performance.
• Ensure each food/beverage concept adheres to brand standards.
• Contribute to an engaging work culture with accountability and ongoing development.
• Recruit, develop, and retain strong teams to maintain staffing levels.
• Support supervision of plaza leadership to meet goals and manage reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and laws.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and timely.
• Collaborate with Brand Partners, HR, Loss Prevention, Finance, and Facilities & Maintenance.
