Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled PICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Des Moines, IA. The role involves providing advanced care to critically ill pediatric patients, performing comprehensive assessments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a high-acuity environment.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of PICU RN experience, an active RN license, BLS, and PALS or ENPC certification. ACLS and CCRN are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent PICU RN experience.
• Registered Nurse license valid per state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to pediatric patients and families, ensuring understanding and emotional support.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per pediatric nursing protocols.
• Prepare and operate advanced medical equipment (ventilators, central line setups, hemodynamic monitors).
• Monitor patient conditions, document findings, and notify physicians of critical changes.
• Interpret vital signs and clinical data to detect deviations and initiate rapid interventions.
