Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to assist a Physical Therapist in helping patients recover from a serious illness or injury, and to regain independence through improved mobility, balance and gait.

Under supervision you will support quality patient care, document services for billing, and help develop individualized plans of care to restore function and independence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license or certification in the state of practice, or proof of license eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide support care for residents aiming to recover and rehabilitate from serious illness, injury, or medical events.
• Assist in delivering quality patient care under licensed therapists' supervision.
• Document all services to ensure accurate and timely therapy billing.
• Ensure care follows the Plan of Care, organizational guidelines, and applicable laws.
• Under supervision, identify and develop care plans and implement therapy programs to restore function.
• Identify need for referrals to other disciplines to address comprehensive patient needs.
