Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Physical Therapist for a travel assignment in Chesapeake, VA. This 13‑week engagement requires 40 hours per week with a day shift, and the right candidate will have 1 year of PT experience (6 months may be acceptable for an exceptional candidate).

The PT will evaluate, develop, and implement a plan of care for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting, including supervising PTAs and therapy staff, billing per guidelines, and maintaining compliant

Qualifications

• 1 year of PT experience preferred; 6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates.
• BLS certification and state-specific PT licensing required.
• Stand/walk for long periods; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and therapy technicians.
• Bill within the respective setting following guidelines.
• Understand PT board rules and state regulations.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure a team-based plan of care.
• Understand adaptive equipment and use their devices as needed.
• Evaluate and create a plan of care for patient populations.
• Modify plan of care as patient condition changes.
• Use Medical Center computer systems for daily tasks.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation per state and insurance guidelines.
