Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital with an inpatient rehabilitation unit in Texas. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of acute care or inpatient rehab experience. The schedule is five days per week, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with two weekend shifts every four weeks.

You must live outside a 50-mile radius; no local candidates will be considered. Travel and licensure reimbursements, housing allowance, and other benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of acute care or inpatient rehab experience required.
• License required if applicable.
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted).
• No 90+ day gaps in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Rehabilitation Therapy department serving both an acute care hospital (Level 1 Trauma, Neuroscience, ICUs, ECMO, Burn, Oncology, Ortho & Spine floors, 600 beds) and a 40-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation unit.
• Schedule is 5 days/week, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with 2 weekend shifts required per 4-week period on a rotating basis.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating requirements.
• Uses therapy equipment including walking equipment, bikes, bars, and treadmills.
• Uses Meditech EMR.
• Provides 1-on-1 PT treatments to patients.
• Day shift team includes Director, Manager, PT Supervisor, OT Supervisor, and ST Supervisor along with PT/OT/ST staff.
• Staff includes 27 full-time PTs, 19 full-time OTs, and 9 full-time STs.
• Best fit candidates demonstrate willingness, accountability, flexibility, open-mindedness, and a good sense of humor.
• Facility requires candidates to live outside a 50-mile radius; no local candidates will be considered.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation settings required
• Candidates with work history solely in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Outpatient settings, Pediatrics, or School settings will not be considered
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• License required if applicable
