Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist with 2+ years of inpatient experience in orthopedics and neurology for an acute care rehab unit. The role is based in California with day shifts and some weekend coverage.

Requirements include a California PT license, BLS (AHA) certification, and a Master's degree in Physical Therapy. Inpatient experience and post-op orthopedic knowledge are preferred, with generous benefits and housing allowances for travelers.

Qualifications

• Current CA PT license required if applicable.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Master's degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient experience required.
• Orthopedic and neurologic treatment experience required.
• Experience with assistive devices, lift equipment, and specialty beds preferred.
• Knowledge of post-op orthopedic procedures including total hip, total knee, and spinal surgeries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acute care inpatient rehabilitation unit setting.
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and geriatric cases.
• Patient ratio of 1:8.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Some weekend shifts required with no on-call requirement.
• Epic charting system preferred.
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge documentation.
• Treats conditions such as post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, COPD, and CHF.
• Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday allowed off per contract.
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate.
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return.
• Not open to first-time travelers.
