Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an inpatient travel assignment in Urbana, Illinois. The position is 40 hours per week with a day shift, limited to Monday through Friday, in an inpatient/swing bed setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Illinois PT License required if applicable.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• New graduates considered.
• Experience with orthopedic and neurologic evaluation.
• Skilled in ROM, strength, and functional task performance testing.
• Experience with therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis.
• Experience with taping for movement stabilization, facilitation, or inhibition.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients for orthopedic and neurologic impairments and establish individualized plans of care.
• Perform patient transfers safely using proper body mechanics.
• Communicate with referring providers regarding patient progress and treatment recommendations.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and students using effective teaching methods.
• Supervise support personnel and provide ongoing feedback per legal and ethical guidelines.
• Complete annual clinical ladder requirements, including student supervision, project completion, and in-service training.
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract.
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates not accepted.
• Open to first-time travelers.
