Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Carlsbad, NM is seeking a Physical Therapist for a travel assignment. The PT will evaluate and develop a plan of care for diverse patient populations in acute care and will coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure an effective, team-based approach.

The position requires licensure, BLS, and relevant clinical experience. Responsibilities include supervising PTAs and staff, documenting per guidelines, and adapting plans of care as patient needs evolve.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.
• PTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods, and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

• Bill within the respective setting following facility guidelines.
• Understand and comply with the PT board's rules and state regulations.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure a team-based plan of care.

• Use Medical Center computer systems for daily tasks.

Job Description & Requirements

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Carlsbad, NM. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted.

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.

PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Pay Package

Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
