Responsibilities

• Ready to travel to a client assignment within a designated region with short notice.
• Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures all field patient service and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures, reducing patient anxiety.
• Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in compliance with laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in Pathconnect and other PathGroup applications.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer with high accuracy.
• Changes and matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores according to required temperatures.
• Maintains records and logs, assists with monthly statistics.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
• Demonstrates organizational commitment and professional behavior.
