Job summary

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a skilled Float Support Staff Technician/Phlebotomist to support our Decorah clinic and float to Prairie du Chien, Waukon, Spring Grove, La Crescent, and Viroqua. The role offers on-the-job training, a starting pay of $16.86/hour with up to travel differentials, and biweekly 0.5 FTE scheduling.

You’ll perform venipuncture, waived kit testing, specimen labeling, and coordinate with healthcare teams while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Strong customer service and compassionate patient care.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
• Phlebotomy/medical experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood samples.
• Receive and perform waived kit testing and processing.
• Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper storage and transportation.
• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and after blood collection.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate specimen collection and processing.
• Maintain records and confidentiality of patient information.
• Adhere to quality control procedures to ensure test integrity.
• Travel to regional clinics to provide laboratory support.
