Gundersen Health System’s Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a skilled part-time casual on-call phlebotomist at our Winona Campus. You will join the laboratory team assisting with specimen collection including venipuncture, capillary draws, and patient instruction, with on-the-job training provided.

Casual on-call role, training week in La Crosse, WI, then orientation in Winona, MN. Starting pay $16.86/hour, based on experience, with shift differentials and days/evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• On-the-job training provided; prior lab experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work casual on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood samples.
• Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper storage.
• Follow established safety protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and after blood collection.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate specimen collection.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Adhere to quality control procedures to maintain specimen integrity.
