Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National certification required - PTCB or ExCPT.
• State pharmacy technician license/registration as applicable.
• 1+ years of pharmacy tech experience required.
• Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology.
• BLS certification may be required per facility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile products, including IV admixtures, per USP <797>/<800> standards.
• Accurately process medication orders and maintain patient medication profiles.
• Manage medication inventory, including ordering, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy automation and dispensing equipment.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy of prepared medications.
• Assist with billing, insurance verification, and third-party claims processing as needed.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations (DEA, board of pharmacy).
• Communicate with nursing staff and providers regarding medication orders and availability.
