Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer/Echo Tech with pediatric cardiac echo experience for an inpatient and outpatient pediatric population. The role requires post-graduate training, pediatric echo experience, and active RDCS/Peds credentials.

The position involves 5x8 hour day shifts, includes daily caseload management, and uses Cerner for charting. Travel and housing assistance are provided for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric cardiac echo experience and 6 months of pediatric echocardiography experience, 3 years preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography training program or equivalent pediatric/adult echocardiography experience
• BLS certification required
• ARDMS RDCS-PE certification required
• RDCS-Peds, RCS, or RCCS certification required (CCI RCCS or CCI RCS also accepted)
• License required if applicable
• Skills required include 2-D Echo, routine scanning, and scanning complex anomalies

Responsibilities

• Pediatric acute care and outpatient setting performing cardiac echo studies
• Daily caseload of 4-5 studies per session
• Reports to the Clinic Manager as part of the patient care team
• 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered with strong experience
• Travelers are expected to float first according to facility float requirements
• Up to 16 hours of orientation modules may be required and are self-reported
• Maximum of 7 days RTO, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before reapplying
• Rehire eligibility for candidates previously placed at Rady Children’s or CHOC is subject to leadership review due to the merger of the two health systems
