Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Fairmont, West Virginia. The position is for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN on a travel assignment.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of acute care experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and is comfortable with 12-hour night shifts. This role involves monitoring cardiac patients, IVs, dressings, and meds in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience in PCU/stepdown settings.
• Willingness to travel and work 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and monitor patients closely.
• Stabilize critical cardiac patients and respond to changes.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and document medications with adverse reaction reporting.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays for safety.
• Initiate corrective actions based on monitoring data.
