Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Critical Care Float for a travel nursing job in Prescott, Arizona. The PCU RN will care for patients requiring close monitoring, with focus on cardiac and other vital signs in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes bedside care, IV starts, medication administration, and monitoring using clinical equipment. ACLS/BLS certifications and 1–2 years of acute care experience are preferred, with benefits and tax-free stipends typical of travel assignments.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
• Progressive Care Unit/PCU experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
