Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU for a travel nursing job in Charleston, West Virginia. The PCU travel role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience and involves 12-hour night shifts, with a 36-hour weekly schedule and a 13-week assignment.

The PCU nurse monitors patients with close observation, utilizes cardiac monitoring equipment, and administers medications while ensuring safety and timely interventions in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• PCU/Progressive Care Unit travel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Monitor specialized equipment and interpret displays.
• Initiate corrective actions based on monitoring data.
