Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel PCU RN for a 13‑week assignment in Charlottesville, Virginia. This travel role requires 36 hours per week, with 12‑hour day shifts in a Progressive Care Unit.

1–2 years of acute care experience and active BLS/ACLS are required. The PCU travel nurse will monitor cardiac patients, perform bedside care, manage IVs and medications, and stay alert for changes necessitating rapid intervention.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• PCU RN experience or familiarity with stepdown units.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust patient equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective actions based on monitoring data.
