Job summary

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS- License to Submit: Yes- Required Competencies: Telemetry- EMR: EPIC- IV Pumps: Alaris- Driver's license requirement for distance verification- Qualities for hires: Ability to manage the business of the day, being part of a supportive and cooperative team

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:- It is indicated that having the ability to float to MS areas based on need is preferred.

Leadership and Support:- Charge nurse, educator, care managers, social workers, and dieticians are present as additional unit support staff.

Clinical and Patient Care:- Patient population includes adults and occasionally pediatrics aged 15 and older.- Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness.- Common drips/medications administered include PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, and insulin.- Specialty Equipment Available: Mechanical lifts in every other room.

Other Considerations:- BSN not required.- Acute care setting.- Trauma Level: 1- Unit Challenges: Staffing, patient experience focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness.
