Qualifications

• One year of recent PACU RN experience.
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients transferring from the OR and post-anesthesia status.
• Monitor vital signs and recovery from anesthesia.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per PACU standards.
• Document assessments and recovery progress in medical records.
• Coordinate with the surgical team for discharge planning.
• Operate PACU equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and pumps.
• Provide education to patient and family on recovery care.
• Handoff communication between OR, PACU, and post-PACU units.
