Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Cumming, Georgia. This OR travel nurse role requires 1-2 years of acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and possibly RN first assistant.

The assignment spans 16 weeks, with 40 hours per week, typically days shift, and requires ACLS/BLS certifications. The OR travel nurse will assist in perioperative care, coordinate with the surgical team, and provide patient education before and after

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience as circulating/scrub nurse or RN first assistant.
• Travel assignment in Cumming, GA with 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients, and provide pre- and post-surgery care and education.
• Work as circulating OR nurse outside sterile field or scrub nurse inside sterile field, handle instruments as needed.
• Perform tasks such as bedside care, administer medications, and document treatment; educate patients and families.
• Monitor equipment, manage specimens, and ensure correct procedures are performed on the right patient.
• Support RN First Assistant duties such as delivering direct surgical care and helping control bleeding.
