Job summary

TotalMed RN in Bridgeport, CT is seeking an OR travel nurse (RN) to support operating room teams for a 13-week assignment. This role requires flexibility for nights, 10-hour shifts, and travel-enabled onboarding.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and possibly RN first assistant, with BLS certification. Responsibilities include bedside care, medication administration, and patient education.

• 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• BLS certification required.
• Travel nurse assignment specifics include 13 weeks and 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and monitor patient status during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.
• Administer prescribed medications and document responses; report adverse effects.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ families and operating room staff.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient and assist with education on home care.
